Float RN Job Objective(s):
The role of the Float RN is to ensure that the health and safety of all residents are met through supervision of home care staff and on-going training of home care staff. The Float RN will also ensure the home care services follow current regulations and standards. This role will be required to travel to all GLMC locations to provide RN support as needed.
Float RN Responsibilities:
- RN assures residents maintain admission criteria, reassess, and recommend alternative placement if necessary.
- Monitors and maintains resident charts and clinical progress notes.
- Communicates to physicians and other personnel (county caseworkers) changes in resident’s needs or conditions.
- Assures that medication administration procedures are followed properly and discusses any needed corrections, errors, etc., with staff.
- Provides health training to all new employees as well as continued education for all staff and documents such training to assure compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures and implementation of them.
- Promotes a positive, team approach and a healthy work environment.
Float RN Qualifications:
- Valid MN RN license
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care communities
- Valid MN driver's license
- Ability to self-start and follow through with initiatives with a minimal amount of supervision.
- Management experience preferred but not required
