The Senior Sales Manager is a remote position with occasional travel for site/client visits. The ideal Sr. Sales Manager candidate will have large convention hotel experience (over 1,000 rooms). The Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible for generating multiple streams of revenue, to include overnight rooms, conference space, food and beverage and other ancillary revenue for Oneida Nation Enterprises (ONE) through prospecting for new business utilizing multiple sales strategies and maintaining existing accounts. Market deployment range from social to corporate clients. The position also acts as a subject matter expert and mentor for the remaining Sales team providing knowledge, coaching and access to development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a mentor to Sales Managers. Regularly meets with individuals to review targets and provide guidance, as needed, to ensure employees are on target to meet goals.
  • Identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve individual, team and property revenue goals.
  • Skillfully identifies and responds to leads and maximizes conversion from all lead sources.
  • Navigates large, complex event opportunities with multi-dimensional property components with unique margin drivers. Identifying the right business opportunities that support revenue optimization goals for a multi-dimensional property experience and balancing the demand of room inventory between convention sales and casino hospitality. Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Understands the overall market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc., and knows how to sell against them. Establishes and executes sales strategy based on key analytics such as pace reporting and sales funnels.
  • Manages room inventory and event space via Delphi FDC Management System.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Sales or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of direct sales experience. Ideal candidate would have experience hospitality setting. Ideal candidate would have experience hospitality setting.
  • Expert level knowledge working with a property management system, sales software required. Experience with Delphi a plus!
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to create and confidently present materials that influence audience.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays to support clients as needed. Core work hours are generally weekdays between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.
  • Must be able to travel as need for client and site visits. Could be up to 30% or more per year.
