Assists the Manager/Director in the management of the daily operations of the Rehabilitation/Therapy departments. Services are directed according to the standards of practice of the professions represented, the laws governing practice in the State of Ohio, standards of accrediting organizations, and facility and department policies and procedures. Responsible for implementation of strategies to deliver high quality rehabilitation services to the communities served and collaborates closely with other members of the Rehab Services leadership team to assure consistency of the care given.

  • Responsible for daily operations of rehabilitation services, assuring operational compliance with all professional, local, state, national, and Joint Commission standards, supervision requirements and accurate billing for services rendered. In conjunction with Manager/Director, develops relevant policies, procedures, and standards of care. Represents the department and service at site and regional meetings including medical staff meetings as appropriate, interdisciplinary committees, and management meetings. Acts as a liaison for community programs and outreach activities. Ensures equipment is in working order and supplies are available. Maintains appropriate patient caseload in their area of expertise.
  • Assists hospital clinic managers with creation of operating and capital budgets. Facilitates stewardship and financial responsibility with a focus on productivity, revenue enhancement, and cost control to meet budget expectations. Ensures compliance of all revenue cycle policies and procedures with a focus on benchmarking comparisons and staff accountability.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training of new employees. Develops and maintains staffing levels that are responsive to patient care needs and optimize productivity. Identifies and provides for opportunities for staff development and training. Assures appropriate training for new technology, protocols, and standards of practice. Authors annual and ongoing appraisals of employees’ performance. Develops and communicates job standards and expectancies. Recognizes and rewards individual and team performance. Leads regular meetings with employees and fosters effective communication.
  • Implements a comprehensive quality improvement program based on relevant indicators and standards of care as approved by manager. Develops and maintains processes to assure equipment function and safety. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to identify and improve patient care processes.
  • Develops strategy to successfully manage tasks and implement interventions as necessary. Facilitates research, identifies resources, and provides recommendations for successful completion.
  • Models collaboration and professional etiquette with all customers - internal and external. Proactively establishes positive and effective relationships with customers, physicians and community members. Facilitates troubleshooting and follow-up as necessary

Must have an active Ohio Clinical license: Occupational therapist/COTA, Physical therapist/PTA, or Speech language pathologist, Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, CPR Certification

Minimum Years and Type of Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in area of specialty.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Computer proficiency including MS Office, email.
