Regional Health Disparity Strategist/Planner
Position Summary: This position will report to the Statewide Health Disparity Strategist with the responsibility for developing and implementing regional specific programming to reduce health disparities related to COVID-19. Incumbent will be a member of the Regional Preparedness and Response Team lead and directed by the Regional Medical Director with day-to-day supervision provided by the COVID-19 Coordinator with direct reporting to the State Health Disparity Strategist.
Location: Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, St. Helena, Livingston, and Washington
Core Functions:
- Collaborate with Regional Leadership and Regional Response team for the development, implementation and delivery of programming to reduce health disparities related to COVID-19. Programming must be specific to needs, resources and population of the region. Work collaboratively with COVID-19 internal regional partners (i.e. Health Disparity Regional Social Worker/Case Manager, etc.) to ensue alignment of strategy and mission.
- Research and gather data to develop a well-informed regional strategy for addressing health disparities related to COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. Develop a regional specific strategy to ensure coordination and alignment with state-wide strategy.
- Develop regional programs, out-reach campaigns and marketing strategies targeted at diverse populations and improving health equity related to COVID-19.
- Develop and cultivate external partnerships with community-based organizations, faith based organizations, institutions of higher education, etc. within region to advance equitable health outcomes. Represent the region on the OPH COVID -19 Health Care Disparity Advisory Council to inform current and future strategies for reducing health care disparities.
- Evaluate the success of strategies developed and implemented. Identify potential health equity and inclusion gaps in current and future strategy development and develop evidence-based solutions to resolve opportunities.
- Present data to regional leadership and subsequent plans for action. Serve as a liaison between regional agency leadership and the community to foster program feedback and create action plans for addressing health disparities.
- Oversee the development of regional training and workshops that address health disparities and improve health equity.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Public Health, Health Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Additional training/certification in health diversity, equity and inclusion. Experience working in health disparities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
