This position will provide recruiting and administrative support for Goodwill's 3 manufacturing facilities: Sheridan (east Indianapolis), Tremont (west Indianapolis) and Yost (Bloomington).

The Commercial Services (CS) Recruiting Specialist provides sourcing, recruitment, systems, and data support for hiring for the Commercial Services division. Sources, attracts, and assesses top-quality passive and active candidates for open positions. Manages the pre-qualification part of the process, from job posting to first interview delivery and onboarding. Leverages human resource information systems to drive results.

Example Duties and Activities

  • Assists the Commercial Services Operations (Ops.) team in creating, maintaining, and strengthening a robust applicant pool of high-quality candidates by utilizing all available tools and venues and by aiding in building, developing, and managing collaborative working relationships with contacts at colleges, industry-, community-, and nationally-based organizations.
  • Manages the prequalification step of the recruitment process for 3 locations, including identifying and screening resumes, obtaining candidate data forms, conducting phone screening interviews, and coordinating and scheduling the face-to-face behavioral-based interviews with the Ops Leadership teams.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and participates in the on-site interview and observation days for prospective candidates. Provides targeted open interviews when applicable.
  • Utilizes an applicant tracking system in Workday to post positions, manage candidates, develop reports, and maintain all recruitment data. Maintains appropriate applicant records in Workday. Creates and conducts tracking system audits. Provides recruitment status reports.
  • Develops familiarity with all open job requisitions and assists in strategizing successful recruitment directions. Makes recommendations for improving the overall recruiting/sourcing process as needed and provides effective solutions.
  • Utilizes digital resources available to research, plan, organize, staff, and facilitate career fairs and/or open interviews. Maintains collateral marketing materials for career fairs. Schedules and attends job fairs.
  • Coordinates and facilitates onboarding of new employees.
  • Assists with pre-employment procedures, including but not limited to reference checks, offer letters, and preparing applicant/new hire correspondence.
  • Works effectively in the employee management system to assist employees and hiring managers with questions.
  • Proactively utilizes the systems for recruiting, along with advertising, job fairs, open houses, referrals, and networking with professional organizations and associations to increase the applicant pool and build a database of recruitment resources that will generate a pipeline of diverse candidates.

Required Competencies

  • Recruitment Process Expertise - Manages full life cycle recruitment including successfully developing job requisitions from hiring managers and managing the recruitment process through the onboarding stage. Has a track record of success in high-volume, fast-paced environments; prior experience recruiting across multiple sites. Adept at behavioral-based interviewing and has applied knowledge of EEO, ADA, and employment laws.
  • Strategic Partner - Works as a strategic partner to comprehend divisional/departmental business challenges and re-frame those challenges through the lens of recruitment and retention while effectively navigating through a change organization.
  • Building Collaborative Relationships - Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships at all levels with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support. Is able to receive as well as provide feedback to improve performance or processes.
  • Technical Knowledge - Has proficient knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, ATS and/or HRIS, database mining and management, and Internet searching.
  • Communication Skills - Articulates thoughts and expresses ideas effectively using oral, written, visual and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to comprehend customers' needs. Delivers information in person, in writing, and in a digital world.
  • Critical Thinking - Uses both rationale and reasoning to examine data, processes, and strategies in identifying trends and inconsistencies to create alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Data Analysis - Collects data and statistics to test and evaluate in order to generate assertions and pattern predictions, with the aim of discovering useful information in a decision-making process.
  • Continuous Learning - Stays current on trends related to the local, state, and national employment market and industry trends. Has a thirst for knowledge and applies it appropriately.

Preferred Competencies

  • Project Management (Recruiting) - Oversees multiple workstreams and delivers against scopes implementing strategies that outline time, resources, requirements, deadlines, and answers to unexpected events in order to streamline the process. Demonstrates leadership skills, especially around communication/innovative solutions to problems, concerns, issues, and roadblocks.

Other Requirements

  • Background Screening - All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record that passes review.
  • Is willing to conduct local travel within the territory of GCSI.
  • May work occasional overtime and attend job-related recruiting events.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
