Recreation Manager

Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. We are now accepting applications for a Recreation Manager.

Summary:

Chileda is looking for a fun, energetic, highly-motivated individual to help build and lead our recreation department. The right individual will be able to create programming and activities that are fun for students and staff while providing structure and consistency to engage in relationship building, while creating a positive, enriching environment for kids. Looking for the right person who has experience in organizing teams, projects, and activities and most importantly with developing programming that can help kids with autism and other special needs build independence. This position will also connect with community organizations and resources to help provide opportunities for students off-campus. This position is part of Chileda's senior management team with flexibility in scheduling and task management, so the right candidate will be a self-starter who can manage projects and meet deadlines.

Status Info:

This is a FT exempt position that comes with Chileda's generous benefits plan. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends.

Education: Bachelor's degree in human service related field required, Therapeutic Recreation Degree preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is also preferred.

Job Duties Include:

  • Plan and prepare for residential recreational activities including rec activity buckets, large group
    activities as appropriate, as well as holidays, non-school days and special events.
  • Facilitate activities that are modified to meet every student's needs and interests during leisure times
    while promoting learning, respect, collaboration, compassion, and safety.
  • Ensure Rec Assistants are completing their assigned duties.
  • In collaboration with House Managers, develop community outing goals that are specific, measurable,
    attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).
  • Build and maintain community connections for special recreation activities and outings.
  • Ensure compliance with Chileda Policy and Procedures along with RCC, CBRF regulations and COA
    Standards within Recreational Programming and agency wide.
