Pay Rate: $75 -- $85 per session

Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities, to provide compassionate care to our diverse patients in our residential treatment facilities located in beautiful, intimate six-bed houses in the Pasadena, San Marino and the Arcadia neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area, and our Reasons inpatient/partial hospitalization eating disorder programs at BHC Alhambra Hospital.

Job Description: The Dance Movement Therapist is responsible for teaching patients the use of the body and its movements and positioning in space within a therapeutic setting as a mechanism both for insight and for change. Dance/Movement Therapy uses movement in a psychotherapeutic context to promote emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of individuals. It focuses on movement behavior as expressive, communicative, and adaptive as it emerges in the therapeutic relationship.

Minimum Requirement:

Education: Enrollment in or completion of a graduate program in Dance Movement Therapy, and/or status as an R-DMT (Registered Dance Movement Therapist) or BC-DMT (Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist) preferred. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, dance, activity therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline, and with extensive related movement and dance experience is also acceptable with relevant work experience in the field of Dance Movement Therapy.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Dance Movement Therapy.

Licensure: Preferred certification by Dance/Movement Therapy Certification Board as R-DMT (Registered Dance Movement Therapist) or BC-DMT (Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist). Must maintain a valid driver license or ID in applicable state within 90 days of employment.
