QUALITY PUMP INSPECTOR

THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT (SWING SHIFT) POSITION 2:30PM - 11PM

PAY RATE - up to $30 per hour DOE PLUS SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

SUMMARY

The duties of this position are to inspect industrial pump components to blue print specifications for dimensional accuracy and surface discontinuities. To communicate status of inspection results to appropriate departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Dimensional and visual Inspection of components, both raw material and finished machined to blue print specifications.
  • Identify non-conforming parts and material for Material Review Board (MRB) review.
  • Initiates NCR process in computer system for non-conforming parts and material
  • Evaluate blue prints for inspection criteria and assist other team members in blue print interpretation.
  • Evaluate and incorporate best practice inspection techniques, including CMM, to improve speed and accuracy of inspection results.
  • Assist in equipment calibration and maintenance of equipment calibration system.
  • Prioritize daily tasks based in MRP requirements and input from others.
  • Perform manufacturing MRP activities as necessary. (This might include but not limited to, closing shop orders, dealing with partial order completion documentation, assisting in MRP maintenance/updates, etc.)
  • Initiate AR's for improvements where possible (blue print to part issues, inspection requirements, etc.)
  • Utilize computer system to access programs and documents critical to job performance (Cad Key, MRP system, CMM Programming, etc.)
  • Follow all pertinent quality procedures and work instructions a required.
  • Operate forklift and other lifting devices in an efficient, safe manner.
  • Follow all safety precautions and practices safe working habits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
