A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST / SOCIAL WORKER

As a Quality Improvement Specialist / Social Worker in human services, you're responsible for using a team approach to implement corrective action, individual protections, and safeguards that address root cause issues and potential deficiencies in our programs. You conduct and document investigations in a systematic manner as well as make regulatory recommendations that ensure requirements are met regarding program procedures. As needed, you also provide direct supervision to individuals with disabilities according to their treatment plans.

Additionally, you provide training and conduct verification assessments to ensure our services, systems maintenance, and processes comply with state certification and licensing requirements, as well as other regulations or contractual obligations. You conduct internal audits or observations to support program services and prepare them for regulatory audits. As requested, you prepare investigation statistics and trending reports. You then use trend data to develop quality services and enhance staff performance.

Using a team approach, you also develop and implement best practices for compliance. You conduct, coordinate, write, track, and manage investigations per regulatory procedures as well as ensure projects are completed within the required time schedule. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST / SOCIAL WORKER

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, management, human services, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as well as provide on-call services on a rotating basis
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Covid-19 vaccination

Knowledge of intermediate care facility (ICF) regulations is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills?
