Description:
Provide field and administrative Health, Safety, and Environmental support to the site team and to Worley leadership. The split between field and administrative support should be approximately 75% field & 25% administrative.
Various Field Responsibilities:
- Promote a strong safety caring attitude from all employees
- Identify and immediately report to Worley’ Supervision any employees who are unwilling to take part in the Worley HSE program or demonstrate a poor safety attitude.
- Identify and immediately report to Worley Supervision any incidents or non-compliance issues
- Feedback to Worley Supervision any concerns regarding Pre-task or employee intervention participation and quality by Worley employees.
- Flag and escalate intervention that contain incident preventions methods, money/time saving tactics, or quality workmanship for consideration as a Value Plus or Positive Root Cause Investigation.
- Conduct field walks with all new Worley employees
- Review New Hire HSE Advisor Expectations Checklist with all new Worley employees
- Provide field support for all injuries and incidents. This will include the initiation of employee care, injury/incident scene control, witness interviews, and documentation.
- Assist Worley Supervision with injury management and modified work program as required.
- Complete Worley Area Audits/Safety Sampling on a regular basis.
- Coach and communicate with employees in the field to ensure safety compliance, positive morale, and a supportive work environment
- Perform safety inspections on client and Worley Area Safety Equipment
- Have a current / valid driver license for the local jurisdiction.
Various Administrative Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with and understand Worley’s Safety Program, CUSTOMER’s Safety Program, and relevant OHS legislation and make improvement recommendations when gaps are identified.
- Generate initial incident notifications (email or handwritten) and submit to the HSE Manager and Site Manager.
- Assist in all aspects of incident investigations.
- Identify Positive Root Cause Investigation (PRCI) opportunities. Perform the investigation with the support of site leadership and share the learnings amongst the trades.
- Attend meetings as required.
Generate incident documentation including the following (refer to Incident Response Manual):
- Witness Statements
- Investigator Notes
- Incident Forms
- Incident Summaries (PowerPoint)
- High Value Learnings (PowerPoint)
- Photos
- Copies of relevant documents (Permit, SPA, etc.)
Ensure WCB Employers Reports are completed and submitted to the HSE Manager after the following circumstances:
- Employee receives offsite medical attention
- Employee must go on modified work beyond the date of the incident
- Employee must miss work due to injury
Ensure Worley Supervision is advised to contact OH&S after the following circumstances:
- Employee admitted to hospital
- Employee death
- Employee is knocked out
- Explosion or uncontrolled fire
- Collapse of crane or hoist
- Collapse of a building
- OSHA Recordable Injury
- Near Miss with Potential for Any of the Above
Knowledge:
- Relevant regional OHS or OSHA legislation
- Worley and customer HSE programs, policies, processes, procedures, and objectives
- A basic understanding of the various trades employed by Worley and their duties within those trades

These are preferred qualifications
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or equivalent
- High school diploma
- Two or more years of experience on industrial worksites
