Overview
The S. J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources (QCNR) welcomes a Program Coordinator II to join their team. The position will be an integral member of the Dean's leadership team to help implement the Dean's vision by coordinating and strategizing college priorities and programs. The focus of this position will be the college's online programs and programmatic support. The Program Coordinator will work closely with members of the Dean's staff, Department Heads, and college faculty. They will work in a fast-paced environment and are expected to be a champion for a college culture that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, broad access to education, and life-long learning.


Responsibilities
Online Programs (40%)
  • Online program strategy, marketing, and recruitment, particularly for the Master of Natural Resource online degree (https://qcnr.usu.edu/mnr/) and the GIS Certificate (https://qcnr.usu.edu/mnr/gis-certificate)
  • Develop course schedule, recruit instructors, finance management, serve as Graduate Program Coordinator for online programs, facilitate admissions and advising
  • Develop new strategic online opportunities in areas such as climate adaptation

Program Support (60%)
  • Design and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives (25%)
  • Special Projects (15%), such as:
    • Refine and strategize implementation of a college strategic action plan
  • Educational program support in conjunction with QCNR Associate Deans (10%)
    • Assist with managing Quinney Scholars and Fellows, the college undergraduate internship program, and graduate funding opportunities
  • Data tracking for the college (10%)
    • Tracking of data including undergraduate and graduate enrollment, research proposals and grants funded, faculty achievements including awards, publications, etc.
    • Assist with the college Annual Report and other communications from the Deans Office

The above responsibilities may include these duties:
  • Facilitates seminars, meetings, and special projects.
  • Coordinates activities of support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of program objectives.
  • Monitors and administers program revenues and expenses; may develop or participate in the development of funding proposals for college programs.
  • Writes, edits, and coordinates development of course catalogs, promotional materials, educational materials, training manuals, newsletters, and/or brochures, as appropriate to programs.
  • Collects and analyzes data; prepares scheduled and special reports; maintains program records and statistical information.
  • May train and direct lower level staff, student employees, volunteers, and/or graduate students.



Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in business, management, or related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or masters degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple work projects and types of activities with attention to detail, while meeting and managing deadlines
  • Experience working independently and on a team that may include diverse groups of faculty, staff, and students
  • Demonstrated ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience gathering and analyzing statistical data and generating reports
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
  • Understanding of higher education budgets and fiscal projections
  • Ability to exercise a high level of creativity, decision making, problem solving, and discretion as work is varied and may be undefined
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic work environment
