Posting Summary
The Program Coordinator II, serves as a Family Engagement Specialist, and will provide family support services through the coordination of parent engagement events, community events and meetings, and collaborative efforts and partnerships with other staff and agencies. This position will educate and inform families on accessing desired/necessary services and positive child development outcomes using Strengthening Families strategies to support New Jersey’s early care and education system. The Program Coordinator II will provide technical assistance and comprehensive services to aid and enhance the development of child care programs, licensed child care centers and registered Family Child Care providers serving infants and toddlers. This includes collecting critical data to support child care program assessment and development of new programs as outlined by the NJ Division of Family Development.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, early childhood education, psychology or related field required
- Experience with parent/family support, early childhood services, community events and engagement
- Experience collecting, organizing, recording and processing information
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish an develop trusting relationships
- Working knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
- Knowledge of child protective factors
- Knowledge of developmental screening, Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ);
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- MSW is preferred
Equipment Utilized
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The candidate must have a valid drivers license and dependable transportation
- Candidate must be able to engage with infants, toddlers and preschoolers in floor activities
- The work environment is split between the assigned office and field, where parent engagement and community events, technical assistance and meetings will take place.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
