SUMMARY:

The Program Assistant is responsible for the oversight of regulatory functions of the Community Residence. This person will assist the Community Residence Manager in assuring the Child and Youth Program remains compliant with operations and maintenance of the residence. The Program Assistant is also responsible for the oversight of care of the CR including maintenance reports, vehicle inspections, resident’s rooms, and resident’s physical belongings. This position may require use of a personal vehicle to transport clients when an agency vehicle is not available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include direct care, assistance to the Community Residence Manager reviewing quality of care with goal work and progress notes.

Monitors resident’s spending accounts, daily living needs including bedding, hygiene, clothing and furniture.

Responsible for grocery and budget management for resident meals.

Coordinates with Nurse about nutritional menu plans.

Monitors the physical condition of the Community Residence, and coordinates repairs, maintenance, or replacement of needed items with the Residence Manager and Director of Children Service’s.

Models positive interaction with children, families and staff

Assists Residence Manager and Case Coordinator with review of documentation per shift such as progress notes and goal works are completed in a timely fashion.

Conducts monthly fire drills and completes appropriate paperwork. Ensures that all children in the residence are aware of the fire escape route and staging plan.

Management has the right to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

Experience and Skills:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma with minimum of two years’ experience in the human service field with the designated population (children).
