Job description

Responsibilities: This position will report to Plant and Operations manager and will perform various duties as needed. Position will be responsible for filling in multiple positions in plant and yard to cover breaks, lunches, vacation/sick etc. Some responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

Cuber Operator.

· Inspect all block for size, color, chips, cracks, etc. you may have to run pallet out door unwrapped to look at in natural light.

· Maintain stretch wrap machine.

Yarding Block

· Precisely recording each pallet and pieces by run number

· Have “all” pallets tagged with proper date, run number, job, S.O. number.

Cleaning mixer

· Safely clean mixer as needed ( lock out, tag out, try out )

· Must be physically able to crawl in mixer for extended periods and use vibratory chipper daily

Operate tumbling equipment

· Load product in dump station

· Be able to adjust settings on main control panel

· Keep track of qty. of product going in vs. going out of tumbler by run number

Other duties / abilities

· Keep floor and under machinery clean

· Repair wood pallets

· Help load customers in yard

· Help install molds in block machine

· Empty scrap tubs when needed

· Fill pallet injector

· Operate end loader and skidsteer

· Able to run up raw material as needed

· Help on dry side or palletizing when needed

· Must be able to work Saturdays in yard as needed

· Good time management skills and be able to work unsupervised

· Able to pass respirator fit testing and spirometry test

· Must be able to follow and execute multi-step instructions

· Perform other duties as needed or directed

· Scope of work may change as needed to ensure efficient production

Physical, mental and environmental requirements:

Must be able to follow lifting and back safety guidelines while handling concrete products and wooden pallets. Lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to and exceeding 100 pounds each, at heights from floor level to 4 feet high. Sacked cement up to 100 lbs. each may also be moved as required. Uses forklift and/or hand loads vehicles, bending forward to reach inside of vehicles, as required or directed. Use proper safety guidelines during the complete workday. Shifting gears on fork truck requires coordination of hands and feet. Must be able to climb in and out of fork truck to check product on forks. Work is performed outdoors and forktruck is operated under Midwest seasonal weather conditions including summer heat, winter cold and other conditions. Environment also includes varying noise levels and vibrations associated with construction equipment, and exposure to building materials, dust and dirt at plant. Must be able to follow noise, dust and other environmental safety procedures as required or directed.
