Process Engineer

The Process Engineer facilitates process improvements, assist with new product introduction, and supports quality investigations. This is a “hands-on” position requiring regular on-line participation for all processes to enable a deep understanding of process flow, equipment, and key process parameters. This position acts as a liaison between R&D, Quality and Production, takes direction from the Plant Engineer but assists all managers and supervisors as needed. While off shift work is uncommon, the Process Engineer must be available to work to support production on all shifts as needed. The successful candidate will facilitate open communication among employees with the goal of seeking others' ideas on how to improve processes resulting in safe and efficient operation with robust quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Responsibilities as Assigned)

· Define, develop and implement best practices, process and equipment changes and/or modifications. These activities include implementation of product and process improvements to improve safety, quality, and productivity with continuous improvements in all areas.

· Assume the lead in establishing programs to evaluate precision and accuracy.

· Lead the development and implementation of work instructions and procedures for manufacturing processes and equipment.

· Monitor manufacturing processes to meet quality and productivity standards

· Minimize waste streams and implement effective cost controls

· Maintain adherence to EHS policies and procedures throughout all facility operations

· Foster an environment of continuous improvement

· Assist with new product development and implementation of manufacturing processes

· Work safely and responsibly and ensure all personnel and non-personnel entering the facility understand the requirements of a safe facility. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge and Experience

· Engineer experience in a manufacturing operation

· Must have experience in electrical / electronic troubleshooting and installation.

· PLC and drive experience are required.

· Strong candidates would have experience with coatings and/or adhesives production

· Knowledge of IS0-9001 standard and experience working in an ISO-9001 certified facility

· Working knowledge in the use of and safe handling of hazardous materials

· Knowledge in the use of Lean concepts and methods is desirable.

· Good problem solving, experimentation and analytical skills

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints and engineering documents, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

· Display strong technical writing and interpretation skills.

· Excellent verbal, written communications and interpersonal skills are required to be successful in this position.
