The Opportunity
Process Engineer
Our Actuation site in Shelby, NC is looking for a Process Engineer to join their Product Support team! The Product Support Process Engineer is a fast paced, hands-on position whose primary responsibility is developing and implementing new shop capabilities and maintaining the process throughout the life of the program.

Your Challenge:

Create and maintain work instructions and process sheets.

Design, procure, validate and maintain tooling and test equipment.

Maintain tooling equivalency, job aids and other documentation.
-
Develop special repair processes outside the scope of published documentation.

Perform root cause and corrective action investigations for customer product.
-
Interact with the customer’s or manufacturer’s engineering staff to develop real-time solutions to issues as they arise.

Implement LEAN/6S strategies to continually improve the process.
-
Work independently and with a team of engineers, shop mechanics, quality, customer service, purchasing and/or sales personnel to complete various engineering projects and tasks on-time and within budget.

Physically work in the shop environment to assemble and maintain test rigs, tooling and/or mechanical, electromechanical or hydraulic assemblies for new capability development.

Your Expertise:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent job experience.

3+ years in aviation industry (experience in the maintenance of various hydraulic components preferred).

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project)
-
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics, Boeing, Airbus and/or Military specifications and other documentation.

Proficient in use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
-
Experience in 3D modeling (Siemens NX or Solidworks preferred)
-
Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical tooling and test equipment.

Experience in Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis of product or process auditing.

Experience in technical report writing.
-
Experience in LEAN/6s manufacturing concepts.
-
Experience managing small to mid-size projects.
-
Experience in LabVIEW software programming.
