Porter / Handyman
Handyman Porter to work in upscale medium sized residential buildings. Job title is Building Superintendent.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for building cleaning and trash removal
- Perform minor repairs and work orders. Light load.
- Perform preventive maintenance, report building concerns and suggested improvements.
- Inspect the building, daily walk throughs to ensure adherence to safe, sanitary conditions
- Take notice of security issues aka doors not self closing, etc.
- Organize and be responsible for cleaning supplies lists to manager
- Maintain storage and supply rooms in neat and clean condition
- Paint apartments for turnover
- Distribute documents, post signs from Management when required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years in maintenance and cleaning experience.
- Residential industries preferred
- Must have Handyman skills and knowledge of basic tools
- Self motivated
- Supervision of outside contractors and technicians
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Operate with discretion and respect Residents privacy
- Ability to effectively read and interpret product specifications, manuals and directions
- Must be energetic, dependable and motivated to work * High School Diploma or G.E.D, preferred Driver's License
Required education:
- High school or equivalent
Required experience: Cleaning: 1 year or more
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23 - $25 per hour - Time and a half for overtime
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- On call for emergencies only
- Weekend availability - only sometimes for special overtime projects
Work Location: 2 locations a few blocks apart in North Williamsburg area of Brooklyn
