Plan Associate (Rosemont, IL)
Summary - An expanding Third-Party Administrator is seeking a motivated, hardworking, and highly organized professional with extensive experience in healthcare benefits and/or pension administration, and administrative procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting the Plan Manager in the administration of various employee benefit plans
- Maintaining and preparing materials for meetings, including minute writing
- Reviewing and process all correspondence, and invoices
- Ensuring that client-specific procedures are routinely practiced and enforced
- Assisting in obtaining the data necessary for benefit studies, annual audits, and timely submission of required government filings
- Exercising discretion in all matters relating to administration of the benefit plans and management of internal relationships
- Reviewing and analysis of monthly financial statements
- Interpreting plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other governing documents
- Interacting with trustees, plan professionals, contributing employers and participants
Required Qualifications
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, problem solving, organizational and grammar skills
- Ability to write minutes, communications, notifications, etc.

Education and/or Experience – College education or prior related work experience preferred.
Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret: the eligibility rules as outlined in the SPD’s, user manuals for on-line services, department rules and procedures manual and COBRA Compliance manual. Ability to speak clearly and effectively explain to members, dependents, providers and union officials the month to month eligibility for coverage.
Reasoning Ability - Must be capable of thoroughly analyzing vendor invoices and all month end reports. Find discrepancies in member’s eligibility; make necessary corrections based on department procedures, Plan rules and analysis of member’s eligibility

Fast paced department. Phone calls are continuous and often unpleasant. Must be able to maintain composure with difficult callers. Most work is done independently. Must be able to multi-task. Must be detailed oriented.
Work Schedule
Full time. Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Required full time in office.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year. Actual salary is dependent on skills, experience, education, and other business factors.
