Summary
A Piping Foreman reports to the Trade Manager or, in his absence, directly to the CES Project Manager. The foreman supervises, coordinates, inspects and performs for the assembly, installation and repair of components, subsystems and systems for the appropriate trade (piping) during the construction, tenant finish-out or remodel of commercial buildings and industrial facilities. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping, fixtures, and equipment for distribution of supply water (both potable and process), gas, steam, and other fluids and gases as well as waste disposal systems for commercial and industrial applications. Daily job stress will run from minimal to extreme, based on such factors as the weather, site considerations, time constraints, job, and customer needs.
Essential Duties
- Prepares material take-offs, layout appropriate systems and makes sketches from blueprints, specifications, submittals and job orders.
- Participates in job planning, site set-up and construction schedules. Estimates worker hourly requirements to meet the needs of the construction plan.
- Inspect work in progress and completed work to insure conformance to specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned trade workers.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
- Enforce company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
- Schedules and coordinates activities of assigned craft workers while communicating and coordinating schedules with other trades.
- Operates and supervises operation of equipment and machinery such as backhoes, forklifts, power tools. Inspects work in progress and completed work to insure conformance to specifications.
- Coordinates placement and storage of materials, tools and supplies to support the construction plan.
- Eliminates construction and job site hazards as they are recognized to reduce safety incidents and their severity.
- Maintain employee field records and evaluate work performance of assigned personnel.
- Estimates cost for change orders. As required, works with tools to meet construction schedules or other demands.
- Perform routine installation activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
- Assist in training of new CES employees on installation related subjects.
- Conduct non-installation work in support of the Fabrication Shop and Service Departments, asssigned.
- Trains and supervises workers on company policies, safety practices, regulations and installation procedures.
- Report workers' compensation injuries to Safety Director and Human Resources immediately.
- Conform to all applicable CES Policies and Procedures.

Experience
- Have 5+ years of successful and full-time installation experience in trade.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and graduate of a post-secondary program of instruction of two or more years in duration or completion of apprenticeship program or similar training program and appropriate work experience is preferred.

- Demonstrate an interest and initiative in maintaining his/her trade skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development activities.
- Have the ability to direct, organize and supervise work efficiently given time pressures, non-standard schedule, extreme weather conditions indicative to job site location, varying customer needs and demands, and backlog constraints. Have the ability to accurately evaluate and document the skills and abilities of assigned personnel.
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License is required
- Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier
