Position Purpose:
The Patient Experience Champion/Patient Liaison will be responsible for the oversight of key components of the Service High Reliability Organization (HRO) in an ongoing effort to ensure alignment and the achievement of results across all components of the Patient Experience. Key components will include, but not limited to leadership development, patient perception of care, physician engagement and people engagement.
The Patient Experience Champion/Patient Liaison will be responsible for consistently leading and modeling the Standards of Behavior while coaching and onboarding hospital leaders and employees on achieving an optimal patient experience for patients through hardwiring standardized tools, behaviors and techniques. The PEC will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and point of contact on all matters related to the facility’s Patient Experience and HCAHPS performance. The PEC will serve as an extension of the critical role CEOs and CNOs must play to achieve consistent, top Service HRO Patient Experience results.
Serves as a liaison between patients and hospital staff, addresses patient concerns to obtain solutions to problems and concerns. The Patient Liaison works with patients and their families to address concerns or special needs that may arise during their course of treatment within the hospital setting. They work directly with various members of the healthcare team, hospital departments, and administration to solve problems that patients & families may have with the goal of facilitating a positive patient experience during their time in the organization. The Patient Liaison acts as an intermediary between hospital departments and the patient/family to bring about the most effective healthcare treatment and positive hospital experience.
This individual will be viewed as a strong leader among his/her peers and have earned respect across the organization. The Patient Experience Champion/Patient Liaison will be selected by the CEO and CNO with support from the Regional President. This individual will have direct access to the hospital CEO and executive team on a regular basis. It is also strongly encouraged that the Patient Experience Champion/liaison engage the following groups/teams for additional support: CHS Hospital/Nursing Administration Administrative Assistant, Quality Department and Hospital HR Department.
Experience
Preferred- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Health Administration or related field
