2. Reviews data in clinical information systems to ensure accuracy.
3. Receives and processes payments from patients according to the clinics established policies and procedures to ensure optimal revenue collection.
4. Obtain and enter all pertinent patient information accurately as required to register patients in the QRS system.
5. Update any new patient information in the QRS system and print this information so it may be inserted into the chart.
6. Process any information needed to do a payment arrangement.
7. Direct patients to appropriate department waiting areas.
8. Process patient walk-ins and triage with attending physician.
9. Request charts for walk-in patients.
10. Answer questions for patients at the facility.
11. Collect department mail and disseminate the mail in a timely manner ensuring that physicians receive medical reports as quickly as possible.
12. Confirm appointments for the next day.
13. Relay messages between doctors and patients at the health center.
14. Mail out information on health center services to patients who request it.
15. Act as a back up for other QRS job functions and is cross-trained in Medical Records and Referrals.
16. Make sure that doctors have provided all the necessary information to bill a patient or their insurance. This would include items such as diagnosis, ICD-9 codes, etc..
17. Schedule appointments for patients who are checking out and may need follow-up appointment, and for individuals who come to the health center in person and need to schedule an appointment.
18. Do end of the day charge entry close-out, deposit, credit card close out, and adjustment close-out for each department in your area.
19. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
20. Performs other duties as assigned.
2. Travel to other Health Center locations as necessary.
3. Act as coverage for referrals.
4. Assist medical records staff as needed.
5. Assist the office staff in special projects as required.
2. Adept at data entry/word processing.
3. Excellent organizational skills.
4. The ability to quickly relay messages to the appropriate personnel.
5. Computer proficiency in Windows based software.
6. Familiarity with medical terminology.
7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and
supervisory staff at all levels.
3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
