Essential Functions

• Cleans bathrooms.
• Vacuums and cleans spots of carpets.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Disposes of trash.
• Cleans walls, windows, and surfaces.
• Maintains stock in assigned areas
• Changes light bulbs.
• Conforms to all safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a current full-time student of MBI or MTS.

Preferred Requirements

Experience cleaning and using custodial equipment preferred.

Work Environment/Conditions

This job operates throughout all areas of the campus. The employee cleans in bathrooms, offices, classrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other spaces. The specific areas of work are assigned by the custodial supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses basic custodial equipment, such as mops, buckets, spray bottles, paper wipers, sponges, and toilet bowl brushes. This role also operates machines, such as carpet extractors, floor machines, wet vacs, and other specialized cleaning equipment.

The employee is required to walk the majority of the workday, including stairs. Tasks also necessitate bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and climbing (i.e. ladders). The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, and push or pull gondolas, carts, and equipment ranging from light to heavy weight.

This is a part time position: 10-20 hours per week during semesters and 38.75 hours per week during breaks (Christmas, Spring, Summer).

The employee is expected to be available to work overtime for some yearly events.

Very minimal local travel is expected for this position.
