The ASC is seeking an OR Aide to join our growing healthcare team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL SEGMENT
1. Supply locker rooms and departments as needed.
2. Check and fill sub sterile rooms with linens and supplies, as necessary including blanket/fluid warmers.
3. Keep supply of scrub brushes and masks and scrub solution available at OR scrub sinks.
4. Clean storage room and storage area monthly.
5. Do miscellaneous duties and errands according to departmental needs.
6. Check off supplies as they arrive and place in appropriate storage areas.
7. General cleaning as assigned.
8. Unload dishwasher in morning, run dishwasher at end of day.
9. Assist in various areas of the ASC as necessary.
10. Complete special assignments as indicated and necessary for the smooth functioning of ASC. 13. Assume responsibility for personal growth by participating in scheduled and mandatory in services.
11. Uses good work safety habits (includes PPE).
12. Flexes schedule to accommodate ASC.
13. Works late as assigned in advance.
14. Other duties as needed to ensure smooth running of ASC.
PREAN AREA SEGMENT
1. Assist with patient care as needed.
2. Transfer patient belongings to Recovery area.
3. Brings clean stretchers to PreAn.
INSTRUMENT PROCESSING SEGMENT
1. Assist with instrument processing after primary duties are accomplished.
a) Wash soiled instruments in the Instrument Room and reassemble sets using cards.
b) Use washer-sterilizer and autoclaves.
c) Identify instruments in need of repair and begin repair process.
d) Properly prepare instruments for sterilization and storage.
2. Keep Hall clean and clear as much as possible.
OR ROOM SEGMENT
1. Assist in setting up the Operating Room with supplies and equipment for the first case of the day.
2. Assist in subsequent turnovers during the day, including, but not limited to: restocking room, gathering necessary equipment, mopping floors, etc.
3. Assists with terminal cleaning of rooms.
4. Assist with transferring patients on and off the OR table.
5. Assist assigned circulators with OR room errands.
6. Hold limbs for prepping as necessary.
7. Prepare mop buckets for the day and terminal cleaning.
8. Check the supply of sterile linen and various other supplies and restock as necessary.
9. Put away sterile supplies each morning and whenever necessary throughout the day.
10. Do weekly cleaning as assigned.
11. Assist with checking and restocking all the OR rooms in the afternoon as necessary.
12. Perform other duties as necessary to assure the smooth functioning of RASC.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE: No experience necessary. Health care experience preferred.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent physical and mental health: walking, standing, lifting, moving equipment required. Cooperative and dependable.
