License/Certifications: Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CRCST) and progressive sterile processing experience preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year of SPD and/or Surgical Tech experience preferred.

Knowledge of OR workflow, procedures, medical terminology and instrumentation needs to support cases

Ability to interpret OR schedule/block time.

Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.

Demonstrated ability to identify, anticipate, and resolve problems in a prompt efficient manner. Good computer skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks successfully.

Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with physicians, surgeons, operating room staff and other healthcare professionals.
Position Summary
Under general supervision of the Sterile Processing Department manager, coordinates and oversees the daily activities between the Operating Room (OR) and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to ensure efficient case flow. Serves as the "point person" with OR and/or SPD staff and physicians to resolve issues that may arise before, during or after a case. Plan, prepares, and maintains sterile trays for cases in the OR.
