The Op Lead Security & Emergency Services:
  • Manages the Security and Emergency Services service providers, as well as internal/external customer security and emergency services operational requirements.
  • Acts as the Operational Lead for Security and Emergency Services.
  • Manages the processes and workflows of Security and Emergency Services operational activities.
  • Acts as the primary proxy in the absence of the Security and Emergency Services manager.
  • Steers the implementation of core Security and Emergency Services strategies and policies to meet the needs of the company, and serves as a key resource to security and site business management.
  • Collaborates with external organizations such as applicable public emergency response agencies, insurance carriers, government regulatory agencies, industry counterparts, etc. to steer security, emergency services, and crisis management operations.
  • Performs and steers risk management assessments, and ensures compliance with BMW policy, as well as local, state and federal guidelines, regarding emergency and security measures.
  • Ensures the implementation of countermeasures for policy noncompliance.
  • Ensures appropriate administration of the Security and Emergency Services programs designed to protect personnel, facilities, and information, particularly as this relates to crisis management, business continuity and emergency situations.
  • Conducts independent investigations supporting the protection of people, property, and information in an efficient, thorough, and professional manner.
  • Identifies trends in fraud, inventory control losses, and non-compliance with asset protection policies/procedures and takes action to protect company assets.
  • Coordinates the identification, development, and execution of investigative functions related primarily to Plant Spartanburg, with additional support for investigations related to BMW Americas Region, as required.
  • Consults with investigations and security operations outside of assigned area.
  • Conducts investigations within the Americas Region as needed regarding intellectual property, personal identifiable information, theft, fraud, threat management, cybercrimes, and other violations of law and policy as defined by the company.
  • Collaborates with internal business departments such as Legal, Human Resources, etc., as well as affiliated companies to lead and assist with investigations.
  • Conducts professional investigative interviews of employees and others, often involving sensitive subjects.
  • Collects evidence, conducts interviews, conducts surveillance, testifies in court, and works with appropriate local, state, and/or federal law enforcement agencies in order to determine prosecutorial merit of the investigation.
  • Documents and maintains detailed reports and case files, thoroughly and accurately.
  • Prepares executive summaries of each investigation in order to brief management on the findings.
  • Collects, documents, and maintains the chain of custody for any evidence that is collected.
  • Maintains an up to date in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local statues as they relate to investigations, company policies, and security procedures.
  • Conducts applicable investigative internet researches.
  • Reviews CCTV surveillance video for investigative leads and evidence. Performs, coordinates, and manages Executive Protection and security concept development required for VIP visits and BMW events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice or related degree; or the equivalent of 4 years of professional applicable experience such as law enforcement, investigations, and/or corporate security.
  • 6+ years of related professional experience in law enforcement, investigations, and/or corporate and cyber security.
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience of a unit, group, or team of 3 or more people.
  • ASIS CPI, PSP or CPP (preferred).
  • 5+ years working in varying situations, from committee work in which a team player approach is essential to situations in which independence and self-motivation are required as proven through business application.
  • 5+ years of complex problem solving skills as proven through business application.
  • 3+ years of written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to address all levels of the organization.
  • 3+ years demonstrated computer skills; including ability to use database, word processing, e-mail, and presentation software.
  • 1+ years open source and social media search experience (preferred).
