Job description
This job is anticipated to work 20 - 30 hours per week. It is anticipated that this person will work 4 - 5 hours per day M-F with some meetings of the Village Board and/or Zoning Commission in the evening.
Basic Job Duties
General Purpose of Position
Performs and/or oversees the performance of duties required for the position of Village Clerk and also performs basic office related functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provides administrative support to the Board of Trustees
Manages and maintains the Village’s official records
Prepares minutes of meetings
Prepares for and attends all Village Board meetings taking notes, recording minutes and official votes
Prepares agendas
Prepares ordinances when necessary
Assists citizens who visit Village Hall
Performs data entry and other clerical duties
Works with other Village employees on special projects
Performs other duties as needed

Licenses and Certifications
The person in this position must have a valid Missouri driver's license. The Village Clerk is encouraged to pursue her/his certification through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and/or the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association.
Education and Experience
This position requires a high school education or equivalent. Some college is preferred.

Knowledge
· Responsibilities of a Village Clerk as set by state laws
· Preparation and certification of ordinances and resolutions
· Basic understanding of village and state laws, codes, and ordinances
· Specialized computer software systems related to municipal accounts payable and receivable
· General office and filing practices and procedures
· Proper grammar and the use of English in speaking and writing
· Computer operations and applications, including word processing and spreadsheets
· Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
· General functions and operations of municipal government

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
