Job description
Seeking part time Office Assistant for long-standing psychological office located in Port Jefferson Station, NY. Our Covid-19 safety plan would at present greatly minimize your exposure to other individuals. The position includes customer service, office management, and billing/insurance responsibilities.
Duties include answering phones, patient scheduling, office logistics, insurance verification, billing of patients and insurance, filing, and following all HIPAA regulations. Candidate must be detail oriented and organized, with the ability to routinely and consistently follow established procedures. At present, we are largely seeing patients via telehealth. As more patients are seen in person, the position would require multi-tasking between friendly and capable handling of front desk patient-facing needs and consistently accurate processing of billing and insurance claims all while maintaining organization. Candidate should balance pro-active follow up of tasks with respect for their role in the effective treatment of our patients.
Candidate would need to be self-motivated, as present viral conditions limit office traffic, so driven and committed applicants are preferred.
Weekly hours would start at 24 hours per week and may change from time to time between 20-30 hours based on business needs. Hours will remain largely steady from week to week, with advanced notification given for when hours will change.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
We are minimizing foot traffic, as most clinicians are doing telehealth from home at this time. Additionally, there are physical barriers installed and masks and hand sanitizer available.
