Madisonville Health and Rehab Center located in the quaint little city of Madisonville, Tennessee offers Respite Care, Long term care, and Palliative and Hospice. This campus offers care for 81 residents and patients who rely on us for life enrichment and quality of care.

Your Role in the Company

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy evaluations & re-evaluations, make any revisions in any established plan of care, discharge plans, and provide treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician, as well as provide supervision to occupational therapy assistants.

Essential Elements of the Position

  • Assess patients’ needs; identifies and initiates appropriate occupational therapy interventions; works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Performs appropriate assessments and reassessments on each patient, per policy.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients being treated by COTA.
  • Observes and evaluates treatment affect, accomplishment of goals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of occupational therapy modalities.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
  • Meets current documentation standards and policies.
  • Maintains department cleanliness and safety.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
  • Participates in infection control, departmental equipment training and organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Must possess a current certification from NBCOT if required by state.
  • Active license in state of work is required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
  • Active CPR certification.
  • Ability to supervise COTAs
