O&M Integrity – Roustabout/Laborer (Summer Hire) - Prudhoe Bay, AK
Job description
Job Purpose:
The Roustabout/Laborer (Summer Hire) performs day to day manual labor and maintenance on equipment and facilities for the Field Maintenance Team. This is a temporary position and work is expected to run from June 2023 to August 2023.
This position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.
Essential Job Functions:
- Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.
- Performs manual labor including stick picking, supporting scaffolding activity such as cleanup, hauling, stacking materials, shoveling, stacking pipe skids, moving supports, handling steel material and valves.
- Tend pumps, compressors, generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials, lubricate machinery, equipment, and parts.
- Clean and prepare shops to eliminate possible hazards.
- Clean tools, equipment, machinery, and work areas.
- Provide assistance as directed for other work crew members.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to complete a task hazard awareness assessment and administer mitigation to identified hazards.
- Ability to identify and safely operate standard construction and maintenance hand and power tools.
- Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.
- Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.
- Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures.

- Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces; sit; squat; kneel; reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures while wearing arctic gear.
- Lift 40 lbs. from floor to knuckles x 2 with a 12 second interval.
- Lift 40 lbs. from floor to waist x 2 with a 12 second interval.
- Carry 35 lbs. with two hands for a minimum distance of 50 feet x 2. Self-paced but continuous. (Allows a 60 second rest break after the first 50 ft. carry.)
- Stairs: Climb up and down 12 steps x 3 for a total of 36 steps, self-paced, but continuous.
- Stair Climb and Carry Test: While carrying 50 lbs. with one hand and holding onto a railing with the other hand for safety, walk up and down 12 steps. Self-paced.
- Slanted Ladder: Climb up and down 6 rungs x 2 for a total of 12 rungs, self-paced, but continuous.
- Repetitive Kneel Test: Perform from standing, kneel on one knee, alternate from left to right knee x 5 each knee.
- Repetitive Stoop Test: Perform from standing position, bend forward at waist as far as possible without bending the knees with hands reaching toward the floor x 5, self-paced but continuous.
- Repetitive Squat Test: Perform a functional squat and stand x 5.
- Twist and Flex Test: Perform from standing alternate toe touches x 5 to each side to assess ability to twist and flex the trunk repetitively.

Basic Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training, if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of a certified Alaska secondary trade school.
