Role Purpose
Develop PR plans that deliver cut through news and consumer PR coverage for our brands to increase awareness, preference, and drive commercial results.
Key Accountabilities
- Help increase brand awareness for IHG Hotels & Resorts by securing coverage in Tier 1 lifestyle, travel, Gen Z and business outlets.
- Subject matter expert on ‘great PR’ related to earned media coverage.
- Establish and maintain Tier 1 relationships with travel and lifestyle consumer media outlets.
- Focus on big ideas that win the hearts and minds of consumers, and set our brands apart from the competition with a focus on enabling global delivery and owner ROI globally.
- Develop and manage the press office calendar globally and budget for priority markets.
- Manage process for receiving and executing prioritized briefs from category, shared services and commercial leads.
- Manage an agency network to ensure alignment, consistency, efficiency, effectiveness and value for money.
- Ability to effectively influence leaders to shape strategy.
- Training, advice, and support to key management as required
- Manage always-on influencer program in partnership with PR agency.
- Evangelize and embed IHG Masterbrand strategy and key messages within earned media opportunities.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. B.A. in Journalism, Communications or English preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position, including public relations, media relations, executive support and internal communications.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of the travel and / or lifestyle media landscape and ability to build relationships with key media stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate excellence in preparing clear and concise written business communications for all types and levels of audiences.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence and communicate with all levels of management and employees.
