The Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) is a rapidly growing military organization located on Kirkland AFB. The Operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports the Joint Navwar (Navigation Warfare) Operations Center (JNOC), a communication and contact center that interfaces with global warfighters who require information products for planned or current operations. The JNWC supports a variety of Government agencies but is primarily focused on Department of Defense (DoD) warfighters.

This position is part of the Navwar Support to Warfighters Division comprised of Government and Contractor staff members. This position requires a Secret clearance to apply, but a Top-Secret clearance to perform these important responsibilities. LinQuest will assist the right candidate with securing the appropriate clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff and operate the JNOC, an operations interface to world-wide warfighters providing support for Navwar and position, navigation, and time (PNT) issues
    • Operate 24/7/365 operations center support to the warfighter and the PNT community of interest
    • Establish and maintain interfaces with global operations centers - CONUS and OCONUS
    • Record activities that occur during shift, log actions or external requirements
  • Prepare JNOC to respond quickly to warfighter urgent needs
  • Maintain a catalog of information products that informs the warfighter community of PNT developments
  • Nominate information products that can be used to inform the greater PNT community of developments
  • Maintain PNT products that can be used to respond quickly to information requests
  • Monitor world-wide networks to collect military and domestic reports of PNT performance or issues
  • Run checklists to craft response to warfighter support requests; identify new requirements
  • Publish information products on web-based information sites tailored for external stakeholders
  • Support Mission Analyst with differences analysis to determine introduction or use of a new system
  • Interface with stakeholders for PNT/GPS issues. Support collaborative efforts to remedy GPS issues
  • Capture and report PNT technology advances in military and commercial communities

Required Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly using oral or written media
  • Understand military systems, capabilities, and effects
  • Understand military exercises, objectives, participants and constraints
  • Understand military security and OPSSEC responsibilities and requirements

Preferred Skills:

  • Writing military contact plans and recording military activity logs
  • Understand military systems and their relation to PNT systems

Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ operating or supporting Government systems that require PNT awareness
  • Military service
  • Active Secret clearance but will need to obtain a TS Clearance

Preferred Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in DoD operations centers /interfacing with other global operations centers
  • Operations or Intelligence experience
  • Experience supporting joint command including CENTCOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, INDOPACOM
  • BA/BS degree
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
