Client is a modern precision machining job shop that has been servicing the power generation, Naval, Aerospace defense, satellite optics, food service and many other manufacturing industries since 1957. Working in a team-based atmosphere with the latest technology, we provide contract machining services to a vast customer base. Our employees include highly skilled tradesmen in the industry with an average term of employment of fifteen or more years with our company.
We machine small quantities of diversified parts that range in size from the size of a pencil to over 13,000 lbs. machinedto meet our customer’s specifications in an air-conditioned facility.

About the Position:
- - Minimum of 5 years experience inspecting machined and vendor supplied products
- - Proficient using a variety of inspection tools
- - Able to accurately interpret blueprint requirements, GD&T and various specifications
- - Experience using and / or programming Zeiss CMM’s, Optical Comparators and other such devices
- - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and exposure to
- Design applications such as SolidWorks
- - Ability to interpret, document and communicate inspection findings to appropriate personnel
- - Exhibit good communication skills
- - Ability to work independently or with minimal assistance
- - Ability to perform material review and perform CCA/PA activities
- - Ability to perform inspection activities in a fast-paced environment
- - Understand the concept, processes and KPI’s of an ISO 9001 environment
- - Familiar with calibration activities and software.
- Qualified candidates will have inspection experience in a fast paced contract manufacturing environment with small lot sizes.
- Candidates should be ready to perform mechanical inspection in a final inspection environment, but also working in-process with machinists, sometimes on the machine, on work-pieces that vary in size and scope.
- Zeiss CMM software and usage is required.
- The shop floor consists of small and large mills, lathes, and grinding, and EDM machines, and you are often called to perform inspection in order to verify a first-piece, or to assist in proving out operations. Our customer base is tied primarily to defense, so all work is 100% inspected and documented including material certifications and process flow-down procedures.
- Inspectors work closely with our skilled machinists to maintain and improve product quality, verify dimensional accuracy, inspect and prepare machined parts for outsourcing, and also inspect them upon return.
- The right candidate will be detail oriented with an eye for inconsistencies in documentation and accurate record keeping. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. since some parts may require manipulation by hand.
Schedule:
This is a day shift, 40 hour per week, Monday – Friday schedule with some additional daily overtime included depending on workload. Scheduled days are 7:00 AM– 3:30 PM with flexibility.
Saturdays are until noon only and are based on workload.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
