Position Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll work independently on various projects concurrently as assigned by a Project Manager or Group Leader. You’ll prepare design computations and quality estimates and develop probable cost estimates for projects. Primary responsibilities will include modifying scopes of work for mechanical designs (HVAC/Utilities) based on preliminary review and client meetings, assisting with preparation of engineering studies and schematic design for new HVAC/Utilities systems, and evaluating the operation of existing systems.
We’ll rely on you to make calculations using engineering formulas and skills for design, such as heating and cooling loads, equipment sizing, etc. You’ll select equipment based on recommendations of the Project Designer/Engineer and fill out equipment schedules. You will regularly review mechanical progress and alert the PM to any changes in scope. Maintaining quality in accordance with company production and design standards is critical.
Knowledge of local codes and industry standard equipment and ability to specify it for proper applications is important. You’ll provide drawings for your own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters. Regular communication with clients and other design professionals will be necessary as you coordinate project document completion. You may also report on design budgets based on the project scope.

- Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 2-5 years of professional engineering experience in mechanical design related to HVAC and utilities
- Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences or Laboratory industry experience is preferred but not required
