Responsibilities:
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, modification, maintenance, and system management of facilities, buildings, and equipment & machinery in the facility by performing the following duties personally or through managing team members.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Directly supervises Facilities Engineers/Technicians, maintenance technicians, and any other team members assigned to the facilities team.
  • Manages team of professionals or supervisors
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance reviews, rewarding and discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Establishes and monitors standards, policies, and procedures for installation, maintenance, testing, modification, and inspection of equipment, buildings, and
  • Maintains building and equipment Preventive Maintenance programs in accordance with organization procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies service contractors for building services including, but not limited to, janitorial service, pest control, and waste removal. Serves as point of contact with these contractors. Maintains records of service.
  • Manages site requirements for Environment, Health, and Safety activities. Creates and manages site Safety Committee. Monitors plant and department compliance to OSHA regulations and organization's safety
  • Develops and manages site-based CAPEX requirements and projects
  • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout
  • Act as liaison to public utility, environmental and energy agencies
  • Establish and manages an equipment reliability program by trending problems, performing proactive risk analysis, modifying equipment, updating maintenance PMs and spare parts requirements and strengthening the PM and technical training
  • Responsible for knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, OSHA and the EPA.
  • Ensures completion of facilities department related GMP documentation to close audit observations, change controls, deviations and corrective/preventative actions
  • Other duties may also be assigned
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with staff, management and other functional groups to plan, organize, lead and complete Facilities initiatives.
  • Responsible for the direction of an operational area, including regular interaction with top management or other areas
  • Formulate policies and develop budgets
  • Work within established operational objectives and timelines
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Focus is on providing technical guidance and expertise.
  • Responsible for the direction of a group, coordinating workflow and provide guidance in the resolution of problems or areas of concern
  • Manages and provides technical direction to a work group
  • Provides personal expertise, as well as project/technical leadership
  • Assigns projects or activities to individual contributors
  • Execute on projects and assignments
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance, consistency of practices and work quality
  • Operationalizes strategy in large but focused units or initiatives.
  • Manage the performance review of assigned staff, providing training and development
  • Will be responsible for operation within a budget, and will provide input on budget allocation and prioritization
  • Delivers results in alignment with business outcomes

Qualifications:
Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in business or engineering is required; Master of Science or MBA is preferred. Bachelor degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience leading a team, Master degree with 3+ years of experience leading a team, Doctoral degree with 0-2 years of experience leading a team
  • Experience in facilities and building systems management, building codes and regulations, and related activities is required
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in startup, shutdown, operation and maintenance of ISO 8 Clean Rooms Facilities
  • Project management, machine design, process improvement and reliability experience
  • Ability to interact with, select, and manage utilities contractors and facility service providers
  • Proficient with Facility database driven software such as Building Management, Access Control Security and Computerized Maintenance Management.
  • General knowledge of building utilities such as boilers, electrical distribution systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Management of facilities equipment repair/preventive maintenance programs as well as TPM program implementation.
  • Demonstrated comprehension of Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures related to Facilities and Equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Familiarity with local and state permitting requirements for buildings and facilities.
  • Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.
