Summary of Job Duties:
The Drug Endangered Children Program Coordinator assists in the development, coordination, and implementation of Arkansas’s Maltreatment and Drug Endangered Children Initiative (DEC). The DEC Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative activities of designated projects, programs, training, and data collection efforts. The DEC Coordinator performs liaison functions with DEC counties, and assists with other grant projects within the department as needed. This position is governed by CJI and the University of Arkansas policy and procedures and state and federal law.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Other jojob-relatedducation and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Director of the Criminal Justice Institute.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s or greater Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is a preferred minimum.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years experience at a supervisory level in law enforcement, social services, or a related field.
  • Possess professional experience in investigating child abuse, neglect, or maltreatment cases.
  • Possess experience in the areas of training, research, or project development and implementation.
  • Possess or qualify for law enforcement instructor certification from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.

Additional Information:

Salary Information:
$52,000 to $62,000 depending upon education and experience.
