OmniMax is the leading supplier of Residential Rain Carrying Systems and Roofing Accessories in the United States. It sells its industry leading brands such as Amerimax, and Berger through long-standing relationships with the nation’s largest Retail Home Centers.
Locally we have a plant for the Outdoor Living Group located in Phoenix AZ. And we have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician.

Prior experience for this position must be industrial and include work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, fluidic and mechanical production equipment. Knowledge and exposure to PLC and HMI would be a plus.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS (list in order):

  • Follows and complies with established safety, quality, and work practices and procedures.
  • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluidic repairs and troubleshooting requiring involvement with equipment and other plant layout changes.
  • Lead and train others as assigned.
  • Completes routine electrical repairs and general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment and , under instruction, replace worn, faulty parts and reassemble from drawings, sketches, machine operation and maintenance manuals, work requests, and oral instructions.
  • Requisition and/or purchase parts, supplies and materials.
  • Maintain Machine Shop tools and equipment.
  • Track and record work history and maintain inventory of parts and supplies on a daily basis using a CMMS
  • Creates work orders for planned and unplanned work using computerized maintenance system.
  • Estimates job material requirements and cost.
  • Prepares work area prior to beginning and after completion of a job.
  • Reads and maintains accessible blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, etc
  • Work extended hours and on weekend shifts as needed.
  • Participate in Safety Committee discussions as requested.
  • Follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements and safety procedures.
  • Wears proper PPE for job preformed.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure quality products.
  • Keep work area clean and clear of clutter and debris.

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully.
Education:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Any combination of education, training experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance field or advanced technical or vocational training is preferred.
  • Skills and ability in basic electricity and at least one other recognized craft

Experience:

  • 3- 5 years in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • Working with and be able to interpret drawings and specifications.

Skills:

  • Principles and theories of a specialty craft with skill and ability to accomplish routine tasks.
  • Practical mathematics
  • Read and understand manuals, specifications, drawings and blue prints
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Operate forklifts and aerial lifts
  • Must be a self-starter and supportive of all team members and activities.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have problem solving skills.
  • Time management and ability to be detail oriented.
  • Ability to perform math calculations
  • Accurately review and compare information.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
  • Must have computer skills (proficiency in Excel a plus)

  • Prior experience in an industrial setting fixing, maintaining production equipment in a factory, large distribution operation or utility company

Preferred

  • 3 year(s): Three to five years of prior experience within a manufacturing, or large distribution facility or utilities company performing work on industrial equipment
