THE TEAM

Charming and historic boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara situated a half-mile from the beach and Stearns Wharf and a block from the Paseo Nuevo outdoor shopping center.

THE PLAYER

You will perform general maintenance of the property, including but not limited to, repairs throughout the inside (guestrooms, bathrooms, hallways, lobby, etc) and outside of the hotel. You will work towards keeping the hotel's appearance and equipment operating according to the hotel's standards.

EVERY DAY, YOU WILL

• Complete guest room repairs such as painting
• Maintain grounds, gardens, entryways, decks, parking lot
• Work with outside vendors for needed services
• Responsible for preventative maintenance
• Have the ability to react quickly when situations come up
• Perform trash removal as needed
• Ensure work space is organized and cleaned after each shift
• The position is subject to irregular hours to include late nights, weekends and holidays.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

YOU WILL BE GREAT AT HOTEL SANTA BARBARA IF

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent
• You have previous maintenance experience in hotel or similar environment; firm knowledge of plumbing, electrical and refrigeration repairs

YOU ARE A VARSITY TEAM PLAYER IF

• You have HVAC license/certification

PHYSICAL and MENTAL DEMANDS

You must be able to withstand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours. You will frequently be required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Must be able to withstand heat and humid conditions, and tolerate detergents, soaps, cleaning solutions, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
