Windsor Lane Health Care is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurse's (LPN).

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under direct supervision using the state-specific Nurse Practice Act, Practice Guidelines, and nursing judgment. Caring for our residents include delivering quality nursing care to residents, collecting resident data, making observations, reporting pertinent information to the care of patients, direct and supervise other nursing staff members as needed In addition to these core responsibilities, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may perform other similar duties as assigned by the nursing department when necessary. All employees must be caring individuals dedicated to providing high quality care to our residents/patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This LPN position is a staff position that has direct care responsibilities as well as supervisor responsibility for nursing assistants.

Administer medications and treatments timely and according to policy

Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders

Follows established procedure for charting and reporting all reports of incident/accidents (patients & employees)

Identifies and reports changes in condition to supervisor, physician and family


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing and must have a current and valid license in the State of Ohio.
  • Experience is preferred in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing.
  • Must possess understanding, patience, courtesy, and tact when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of medications, their proper dosage, and expected results.
  • Must be skilled in handling and manipulating instruments and equipment.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the specialized procedures applied and equipment used in the area assigned.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions as necessary.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions which may be of a technical nature in the English language.

PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:

This is medium to occasionally heavy work requiring a combination of sitting, walking, bending, reaching overhead, climbing stairs, and standing. Frequent use of both upper and lower extremities necessary for ambulation and equilibrium. Frequent use of arms, hands, and fingers. Intact visual, auditory, and verbal capabilities essential. Involves pulling, pushing, moving, carrying, and lifting. Performs repetitive and/or continuous tasks. Must be able to assist with resident evacuation in emergencies.

MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:

The ability to utilize language skills to comprehend spoken and written words effectively. Adaptable to multiple and changing priorities and frequent interruptions. Able to maintain composure and interact positively when dealing with residents, family members, staff, visitors, and government agencies. Ability to use judgment in dealing with staff and residents. Ability to function independently. A keen interest in and attention to concrete, detailed activities.

Pay starting at $26/hr and up based on experience.

Sign on bonus of $7500
