We are looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant to join our onsite Skilled Nursing Facility!
The Life Enrichment Assistant anticipates the spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social needs of residents, ensuring that activities meet individuals’ needs and desires. S/he demonstrates cooperative behavior with staff, colleagues and supervisors and plays an important role in developing, organizing, directing, implementing and evaluating Activity Programs in accordance with federal, state and local standards; HIPPA; and established Company policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing activity programs for a designated facility.
Ensure that programs properly meet the needs of residents and are conducted in cooperation with residents’ care plans.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, calm, congeniality, personal interest and positive reinforcement for residents and within the department.
Develop and maintain good working rapport with other departments within the facility and with external community health, welfare and social agencies.
Learn, monitor and adhere to current federal and state regulations and professional standards; as observed, recommend policy and procedure changes to the Activities Director.
Help gather information about residents’ backgrounds to better meet individuals’ activity interests and needs.
Encourage hobbies and craft activities of residents; purchase related materials, adhering to residents’ financial status and departmental budget.
Inform residents and families about activity programs available to residents.
Assist in arranging resident transportation for outings and/or to external facilities.
Record and maintain notes of residents’ participation and progress in group and 1-1 activities.
Assist Activity Director in identifying and correcting areas of concern or opportunities to improve services.
Alert Activity Director of need for additional adaptive devices to enhance participation levels of residents.
