Job Description

The successful Lead Developer candidate will serve as the leader of the Software Engineering organization in the Enterprise Software Systems (ESS) department within North Wind's IT and report directly to the Director of Enterprise Applications. The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams using Agile Software Development, Scrum, and DevSecOps. The candidate will have the ability to manage software projects through the entire Software Development Lifecycle. This position will require close collaboration with the Technical Product Managements within the ESS department by participating in project technical reviews, sprint planning sessions, design sessions, user story sizing meetings and other scrum meetings.

The Software Engineering organization is tasked to primarily create custom apps (ASP.NET, C#, React), as well as other development tasks as needed. The organization builds efficient, secure and scalable enterprise solutions for both internal and direct project clients. Collaborate with the development team and product managers to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget. Design, write, test, and document application code. The Lead Developer must be proficient and experienced with ASP.NET, C# and React.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of custom system architecture and design.
• Expert knowledge running software engineering projects using Agile and Scrum.
• Expert knowledge of Visual Studio 2017 and 2019, TFS.
• Expert knowledge of ASP.NET, .NET Core and C#.
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript, client-side programming and React.
• Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server.
• Expert knowledge of Azure DevOps.
• Expert knowledge of Git and proper branching strategies.
• Experience managing, training, and mentoring software engineering personnel.
• Experience with PowerShell scripts and the Windows Task Scheduler.
• Experience with designing SOAP/JSON RESTful APIs.
• Experience with MS 365 include MS Teams and SharePoint.
• Experience with implementing COTS, cloud, and SaaS solutions.
• Troubleshoot and fix software issues.
• Write, test, and maintain mobile and web applications.
• Implement UI/UX from wireframes, mock-ups, and user stories.
• Perform peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in existing codebases.
• Make good technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges.
• Keep up-to-date on cutting edge technologies and follow best practices in architecting your code to provide maximum maintainability and adaptability.
• Maintain an understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues.
• Maintain an understanding of web security and various attack vectors.
• Adhere to the development team's coding standards and conventions.
• Write automated tests including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
