Purpose and Description
The Account Manager is the Customer’s primary point of contact for contractual accounts within the Landscape Maintenance Division. In this position, you will clearly communicate contract specifications and work in conjunction with maintenance crew supervisors, Irrigation/Pest Control Managers & their respective teams to perform services in a profitable manner. Your position is responsible for the necessary follow-up & follow-through actions to maintain positive customer relations, quality service delivery, and contract renewals. You will need to suggest and sell non-contracted landscape management services to meet both the needs of the property and increase customer satisfaction while generating additional revenue for the division.
Duties and Responsibility
- Be a leader of men and maintain the ability to inspire others.
- Develop and maintain strong positive relationships with clients based upon clear and frequent communication, mutual trust, and the ability to meet the customer’s needs. Develop “win-win” opportunities for the client and the company.
- Proactively manage properties through frequent inspection and identifying issues in the landscape before the client brings to our attention. Define a resolution that is within customer’s needs and budgetary parameters. Clear internal and client communication regarding issues found during each inspection is critical to our success. Ensure that the property meets or exceeds customer expectations in terms of appearance and beauty.
- Frequent, effective, professional, and timely communication with customers is required. Get to know our clients and provide candid feedback on the relationship and their perception of the services we provide. This will maximize our ability to retain long lasting partnerships with our customers.
- Source, interview, train, and manage the maintenance staff. Monitor their activity daily at the shop and in the field. Communicate adjustments in the schedule as needed to maintain maximum efficiency while ensuring we are providing a quality product.
- Assist the Shop Manager in Inventory maintenance, record keeping, PM procedures, etc.
- Maintain job costs per guidelines and assist in meeting profitability goals.
- Immediately report to upper management any jobs deviating from budgets of time, schedule, cost, or any other factor so we can quickly make the necessary adjustments to maximize our end-result.
- Coordinate the sale, and execution of enhancements on contractual projects and make recommendations regarding qualifying or disqualifying warranty work per the contract or instructions from the Director of Operations.
- Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, and shop.
- Prepare information for proposals and present in a complete and professional manner according to company standards. Follow up on proposed projects and offer value-engineered solutions if needed.
- Ensure that all proposals are prepared and approved as needed prior to presenting to customer
- Respond to all inquiries and requests for proposal in a timely manner. Maintain record and tracking of all proposals in progress and follow up as necessary to maximize sales opportunities. Aggressively pursue all proposals in progress.
- Assist in measuring properties and the contract renewal process.
- Work closely with administration departments to ensure all contract administration is timely and accurate.
- Stay up to date on BMP’s to develop personnel and recommend improved work methods and standards.
- Represent company at various events, organizations, and associations for the purpose of building relationships that lead to new business. Act in the capacity of a Company Representative and develops community ties to enhance our public image and the Tree Amigo Brand. Maintain positive relations with other companies in the industry.
- Meet division guidelines for customer files, reports, and other documentation.
- Provide feedback to appropriate parties regarding pricing, competition, and other market observations. Exploit changing market strategies and assist in the response to competitor strategies.
- Produce billing documentation and conduct client walk-throughs.
- Assist in keeping our accounts current by collecting payments on time.
- Remain aware of billing and collection status on all projects/contracts.
- Other duties as assigned.
