As a Fabricator/Installer for Valley Signs, you will be asked to perform a variety of tasks related to sign construction. You will need to understand materials, fabrication equipment, simple construction and installation . The quality of our product relies on those fabricating and installing them, and how they work and communicate in a team environment. This can often be a very face paced environment, requiring multitasking and organization. Each step of the process is critical to the team and it’s success.
Vinyl application, painting, running a CNC, as well as various fabrication tasks will be part of your responsibilities. On-site sign mounting, construction and installation will also be included in your responsibilities. Our customers rely on us to deliver high quality products and installations, in a timely fashion. Delivering a quality / reliable product let’s them know that their project is important to us and that we care. Responsibilities:
- Assemble and build sign and sign components
- Apply vinyl to various sign surfaces
- Light operation of CNC
- Roll and spray paint onto sign and sign components
- Light digging for sign installations
- Mount and/or hang signs in the field
Skills and Characteristics:
- Strong Communication Skills. Each sign has its own unique traits. Clear communication with the designers is a must at all times. Questions are encouraged to fully understand the scope of work
- Understand materials and context of their uses. There are many materials used in the sign industry and it is critical to know how each should be used
- Excel in multitasking. Many jobs will be in production at the sametime. This individual will need to understand the priorities that are set and how to produce using several pieces of equipment in unison.
- Critical thinking and creative problem solving as a form of quality control. SFI will act as a final layer of review to each project to ensure signs are produced and installed using proper materials and that the quality is up to Valley Signs standards. Installations often require problem solving in the field to see the job to completion.
- Process Oriented. Many processes exist for a variety of job types. Processes need to be understood, followed and repeated precisely to maintain the Valley Signs standard
- Proactive mindset. Maintenance and organization of tools allow sign construction, job prep and installation to be completed with minimal interruption. This includes standardizing tool sets and job materials, along with understanding preemptively what needs preparation for in the field work in advance
