Job description
Ritz Instrument Transformers, an industry leader in instrument transformers, cast-coil power transformers, and solid-insulated bus systems, has an opening on first shift for an Inventory Control Specialist reporting to the Warehouse/Shipping Manager.
Position responsibilities include:
SUMMARY
Unload trucks and verify and keep records on incoming shipments. Inspect product, verify with receiving records, recieve into ICIM and deliver paperwork to accounting office. Deliver, store products or alert the Engineering department for products they are to verify. Sideline parts on the assembly line as needed for all three shifts daily.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment.
2. Unload raw/finished product from loading dock.
3. Receive product into ICIM and record recieving data on paperwork.
4. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
5. Responsible for quality control. No damaged raw/finished product is accepted in.
6. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s)
7. Operate forklift.
8. Complete daily/weekly logs.
9. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklift.
10. Communicate with operators form other shifts.
11. Clean and maintain work area.
12. Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
13. Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cycle count floor when requested by Production Planner.
2. Communicate with Engineering on part identification.
3. Assist material handler.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Forklift certification.
3. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
4. Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
5. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
6. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds required.
7. Ability to read and understand part drawings and to check parts with basic inspection equipment.
Successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We would prefer previous warehouse and receiving experience. Candidates must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and drive a forklift. Qualified candidates should submit their resume, cover letter and salary requirements.
