Position Summary:
In addition to normal Cardiovascular Technologist duties, serves as the primary resource, support and leader for the assigned specialty.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a contact for the needs of the physicians within the assigned specialty
- Ensures all necessary resources (supplies, implants, equipment, and instrumentation) are available for all scheduled procedures within the assigned specialty
- Serves as a contact with vendor representatives
- Participates in both annual operating and capital budgeting specific to assigned specialty
- Serves as a preceptor to co-workers new to the specialty
- Assist with cases coding as directed by the Manager
- May be required to work outside of normally scheduled hours
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist program required
- 3 years’ experience in Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or Electrophysiology room preferred
- Current ACLS certification or during General Orientation
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are imperative to success.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer
- Must be able to maintain a standing position
- Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
