WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. At our new WellStone Emergency Services (WES) facility we see clients experiencing a behavioral health and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) emergencies on a 24/7 hour basis. The Intake Assistant helps incoming clients to receive the proper treatment needed. They will work closely with other intake assistants and staff to treat clients quickly and professionally (this position is Full-Time 2nd Shift).

We’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field
• Basic knowledge of working with a broad scope of clients from varying demographic backgrounds and cultures
• Experience preferred in Crisis Intervention
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Excellent Organizational skills to include suspense/timeframe management
• Medical Office Experience (preferred)

What you’ll be doing:

• Answer telephone calls and assess their urgency.
• Collect basic demographic information from clients
• Evaluating appropriate intake services for clients
• Provides information related to policies, procedures, and services.
• Assists patients with the completion of forms.
• Greets patients and visitors.
• Prepares new patient information and verifies insurance information for clients.
• Maintains Medical Record Charts
• Ensures adequate coverage of reception desk
• Full-time, 2nd shift
