POSITION: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or G.E.D.
- Two years post-secondary education and A+ certification preferred in related field or a minimum of three years full time experience in field of expertise.
- At least three year’s experience in hardware installation/configuration of computers and peripherals.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona State Drivers License.
- Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to diagnose and repair technology hardware and software.
- Must possess basic knowledge of wired and wireless computer networks.
- Must be able to troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity.
- Must possess knowledge of disk cloning and data recovery.
- Must be able to support all district technology systems and equipment used in field of expertise.
- Must be able to operate all types of district vehicles.
- Must be able to use and/or operate hand tools associated with the particular trade.
- Must have a working knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment of the particular trade.
- Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and follow a work schedule and written directions and work cooperatively with others.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.
SUMMARY
Assembles, troubleshoots and maintains all district technology systems, software applications and peripherals. Troubleshoots wired and wireless network connectivity. Provide end user training on technology systems and software applications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides routine installation, upgrade and maintenance of computer software, hardware, peripherals, networking and telecommunications systems.
- Provides input and makes recommendations to Supervisor on maintenance contracts and equipment for replacement or repair.
- Trains end users on the operation of computer systems and applications.
- Provides technical support for all district computer applications.
- Provides assistance to Technology Coordinator and/or Supervisor in the preparation and submission of technology Grants.
- Assists in the maintenance of existing telephone systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds, frequently.
- Must be physically able to ascend/descend ladders and walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically able to perform hard, manual labor on a daily basis.
- Must be physically able to be exposed to hot, cold, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather on occasion.
- Must be physically able to perceive the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, and the manual dexterity to operate equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of this position.
