Job Summary:
The selected candidate will perform disassembly and assembly of industrial power transmissions such as bevel, helical, planetary, worm gear, mixer drive, mill drive, single and double screw extruder units, hoist and swing gear units, variator drives, couplings and their subassemblies. The assembler will work from blueprints, parts lists, and assembly protocols. Uses parts washers, inspects disassembled parts, reports failed parts, advises on replacement parts. The selected candidate must have complete knowledge of all assembly functions and company product line.
Job Responsibilities:
· Verifies unit to work order and assembly instruction card.
· Disassembles unit, inspects components, and recommends replacement parts.
· Stores disassembled parts in an orderly and neat manner.
· Verifies parts to parts list and records serial numbers as required.
· Checks parts for cleanliness and visually inspects parts for defects.
· Cleans and pre-assembles gear drive modules such as shaft assemblies and carriers.
· Conducts final gear drive assembly, including internal lubrication system
· Assembles external lubrication system and accessories.
· Responsible for overall correctness of gear unit prior to test.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent GED.
· Minimum 10 years prior experience in power transmission or heavy equipment assembly
· Knowledge and experience with blueprints, metric system, work standards, ISO and quality.
· Extensive knowledge with basic gearing and bearings.
· Experience with standard mechanics tools, hydraulic torque wrenches, hydraulic presses, cutting torches, electric tools such as grinders and impact drivers, and ovens.
· Advanced mechanical skills
