Hancock Askew, a regional accounting firm, has an exciting career opportunity for the firm’s HR team. We are searching for an energetic and passionate Compensation, Benefits, and Leaves Specialist firmwide. This position builds and utilizes both internal and external partnerships to deliver value-added, You First consulting to staff and management. The HR Specialist maintains an effective level of business literacy about the firm’s strategic plan, office and practice line goals & objectives, culture and industry trends.
The physical location for this role is open for any of our locations (Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Jacksonville, Tampa or Miami) and will become hybrid after 6 months.

Benefits:
  • Participates in new employee orientation to provide training on proper time keeping processes and educates new employees on Company benefits
  • Participates with the coordination, communication and execution of Open Enrollment
  • Assists all staff with benefit inquires and directs to outside vendor as appropriate
  • Act as liaison between Employees, Benefits, Management and outside vendors as needed.
  • Sets up new employees and benefit eligibility in HRIS System (Paycor)
  • Reconcile benefits invoices
  • Actively promotes and communicates key features of our Benefits programs to employees
  • Works with outside vendor to ensure COBRA notices are sent out to terminated employees in a timely manner
  • PTO reconciliation
  • Compensation:
  • Benchmark current compensation and benefits against market trends and competitors
  • Conduct periodic assessment of total compensation to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and consistency
  • Record job changes, promotions, transfers, etc. in the HRIS system
Leave Administration:
  • Works with the client's team to ensure proper management of all administrative aspects of leave claims to include: tracking hours used/taken; return to work data; file reviews and working closely with the Managers, HR and Payroll to ensure that key dates, details and status for associates is accurate and correct
  • Processes paperwork and tracks all leave of absence requests, cases and return to work
  • Ensures HRIS system is tracked correctly for PTO connected with leave of absence
  • Demonstrates clear, timely and appropriate communication with employees and management regarding leave
  • Ensures that all confidential employee leave of absence records are kept in compliance with HIPAA, Employee Privacy guidelines and company policy and are closely monitored and effectively executed
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding personnel actions; confidential and sensitive performance problems, organizational plans, and legal actions where premature disclosure could disrupt activities within the HR department, the organization, or the community
  • Stays abreast of all changing laws and requirements regarding leave of absence programs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required
  • SHRM-CP or SCP certification preferred
  • 3+ years of field HR experience required, with specific experience in benefits and leave administration
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity/inclusion/equity, performance management, and employment law
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Ability to effectively interact directly with senior client personnel and key decision-makers
  • Highly-motivated and positive attitude

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Flexible mindset, with ability and willingness to work beyond normal business hours when necessary
  • Proactive orientation with the ability to work with limited supervision
