The Human Resource Generalist will be one of the first points of contact for responding to and resolving employee inquiries, administering our performance management and learning management systems, processing new hires and employee changes within our Human Resources System, maintaining many of the day-to-day functions of the Human Resource (HR) department and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices.Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not necessarily limited to:
- Facilitate an innovative, engaging, and welcoming New Employee Orientation (NEO) and first day experience for IOA’s new team members for all regional offices and conduct I-9 electronic verification (eVerify).
- Responsible for facilitating the pre-employment process and entering new hire and employee status changes while establishing best practices to ensure data integrity.
- As first point of contact, respond to employee and manager inquiries within FreshDesk ticketing system. Triage, investigate, and resolve all employee inquiries within HR Operations service level agreement deadlines while providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues.
- Performs the administration of standard to complex processes and activities for all functional areas of HR (i.e., operations, performance management, learning management)
- Provides explanation, interpretation and/or guidance to employees regarding the administrative activities related to HR programs, policies and procedures and escalate as needed.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and user guides in support of process or system training for managers and fellow team members
- As custodian of employee personnel records, lead longer term electronic filing project, and assist in facilitating regulatory audits.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant field (HR, Business), or equivalent education plus experience
- Current/prior experience working in a customer or employee service environment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage, prioritize, track multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive materials discreetly
- Strong customer-service skills and orientation while exercising discretion and independent judgment
- Possessing a strong flexibility competency and ability to shift priorities when necessary
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel to other IOA locations when necessary
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience working in Human Resources
- 2 years experience in Workday
- Experience working with an HRIS and/or payroll system
- Experience working within a case management system
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and process documentation
- Ability to comprehend and explain complex materials and processes
- Strong ability to work with details and maintain accurate data
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
