We’re looking for an amazing Hotel Interior Superintendent to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle office. You’ll be responsible for the upkeep of hotel and crew spaces on vessels in respect to interior maintenance. Supporting vessels by materials, arranging for third party support and implementing projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Survey ships to establish interior repair and maintenance needs. Key player in building annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets
  • Coordinate and implement interior projects on vessels. Engage with third party contractors when needed
  • Create purchase orders and raise capital projects
  • Manage projects at dry docks and in-service. This includes soliciting bids and awarding work with third party vendors and managing projects to completion
  • Work closely with Asset Management Team to assure upgrades and changes meet brand standards
  • Work closely with Hotel Refurbishment team to implement projects
  • Work closely with ship’s staff and Technical Pods to maintain ship interiors on vessels

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Ability to multi-task, flexible and agile, able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience or equivalent -OR
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in marine and/or design industry or related industry
  • Preferred Interior Design Industry experience (ex. Interior Designer, Interior Contractor, Vendor in design industry)
  • Preferred experience working on vessels or marine experience related to interior maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Class Society rules and regulations (ex. IMO)
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Project Management
  • quick learner to new computer programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English
  • Team player, Adaptable to new processes
  • Organized
  • Knowledge about installing interior finishes such as carpet, furniture, fabric, wall coverings, laminate, etc.
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit knowledge to read and manipulate floor plans.
  • Good design aesthetic
  • Amos-W and Binders (internal programs to create purchase orders and create inventory part numbers)
  • Dry-Dock experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

  • Base Salary Range: $79,600.00 to $107,500.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
